Preventive Care

Brushing your teeth thoroughly at home is not enough! It’s important that you have your teeth cleaned professionally at least twice a year.

Even the most thorough home brushing can't get rid of all the accumulating debris in your mouth. Plaque (sticky stuff laden with bacteria) can destroy your teeth and the bone that supports them. Periodic professional cleanings will remove that decay-causing debris and help you keep your teeth and gums strong and healthy for a lifetime..

Cosmetic Services

Dr. Beaty takes a conservative approach to cosmetic dentistry, one that preserves as much of the natural tooth as possible. For example, he may recommend orthodontics to align the teeth into the proper position instead of suggesting invasive procedures that may not address underlying problems of the bite (the relationship between top and bottom teeth). Veneers and crowns can sometimes be the only way to solve certain issues, but Dr. Beaty feels strongly that all the options should be explored before making a decision.

Dr. Beaty understands that the time and effort invested to do things right will pay off in the long run for his patients. They will reflect a smile that not only looks great but functions well, and—with proper care—continues to shine for many years to come.

  • Tooth-Colored Fillings
  • Porcelain Veneers
  • Whitening (Custom trays for take-home bleaching as well as light-activated in-office procedures)
  • Bonding
  • Full Porcelain Crowns, Onlays and Inlays
  • Tooth Recontouring and Gum Tissue Sculpting
  • Invisalign®

Gum Disease/Periodontal Disease

Most people have some degree of gingivitis, or swelling of the gum tissue. When that swelling becomes moderate to severe and begins to affect the bone supporting your teeth, we call the condition periodontitis (also known as periodontal disease or gum disease).

With periodontitis, your body reacts to the swelling of your gums (caused by plaque, which is laden with bacteria) and begins to indiscriminately destroy the bone support for your teeth. This can occur in localized areas of your mouth, or in more severe cases, throughout your mouth. If the bone loss becomes significant, your teeth may feel loose. Advanced periodontitis usually results in tooth loss.

Unfortunately, periodontitis is usually painless until it reaches an advanced stage. In that scenario, the disease process has destroyed so much bone support that attempting to save teeth can be futile. Fortunately, if we catch periodontitis at an early stage we can treat it and halt the process that is ravaging the foundation of the teeth. This is another reason why periodic dental checkups are so important!

When you come in for your checkup, we’ll examine your gums for signs of periodontitis. If you have a periodontal problem, we can discuss treatment options and help you determine the right course of treatment to save your teeth.
